Game Summary

The 2023 NCAA Men's College World Series kicked off with a thrilling Game 1 matchup between the LSU Tigers and the Florida Gators. In a hard-fought battle, the Tigers emerged victorious, securing a 4-3 win.

LSU's offense was sparked by a solo home run from Josh Stevenson in the top of the first inning. Florida responded in the bottom of the third with a two-run double by Deric Fabian. The Tigers tied the game in the top of the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly from Jacob Berry.

The decisive moment came in the top of the eighth inning. With two outs and runners on second and third, Dylan Crews delivered a clutch single, driving in both runners and giving LSU a 4-2 lead. Florida managed to close the gap to one run in the bottom of the eighth on a solo home run by Wyatt Langford, but the Tigers held on tight for the win.

Player of the Game

Dylan Crews was named the Player of the Game for his game-winning hit. The LSU outfielder went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a stolen base.
